Back-end Developer - level 1

As a Back-end Developer at HBO-ICT propedeuse level, you focus on designing and building the “behind the scenes” logic of digital systems. You work with data, business rules, and infrastructure so that front-end applications can reliably store, retrieve, and process information. In this profile you learn how to make well-founded architectural choices, design solid data structures, and implement clean, testable code that runs in a professional development pipeline.

During this level you work on concrete products such as a software architecture design, a database and data structure, automated tests, a CI/CD pipeline, an API specification, and code quality standards. Together, these products give you hands-on experience with the key responsibilities of a back-end developer: from modelling data and designing APIs to deploying your code and keeping its quality under control.
